Take Control of Your Situation, Prepare and Educate Yourself.
If you have been searching for a DUI or criminal defense lawyer in the Mandan or Bismarck area you are likely already seeing that there are several lawyers who would be happy to take your case. Since most people are hiring a lawyer for the first time, it can be difficult to know who is a good lawyer for your case and who is not. The attorney you hire should be both qualified to handle your case, but also “a good fit” for you personally. This is why I provide a free initial consultation, either in my office or over the phone for new clients who are facing a DUI or criminal charges.
During a Free Consultation, You Will:
- Get your questions answered and get a better understanding of what you're up against
- Have the opportunity to have an experienced defense lawyer review all aspects of your case and provide options on how to proceed.
- Understand the cost structure of hiring a lawyer and what you are getting for the money that you are paying.
I am here to help you through this
My goals during the free consultation are to help you recall key points around your case, answer any questions you have, and start building a strategy for your defense. The sooner we meet, the more accurate your recollection of times and events that may play a key role in your defense. I understand that hiring a lawyer is a financial burden to most people; that is why I accept all major credit cards and am willing to work with you on payment terms.
What Do I Need to Bring to My Free Consultation?
As soon as you can, and whether you end up hiring a lawyer or not, get organized. Get a folder or binder and keep all of your tickets, notes and any correspondence you receive in one place. You should start taking notes about anything and everything you can remember as soon as you can. If you have receipts or pictures in your phone that can confirm your location at certain points in the night you can begin to build a timeline. Try to remember what you drank, when and where. These things are all helpful, but none of them are required before your free consultation. At a minimum, please have the originals or copies of whatever citation you were given.
Don't spend another day worrying.
I can't make your criminal charges go away, but I can help you take control of the situation.
